About the Photographer
Growing up in the mountains of Colorado gave me an early appreciation for wild places, dramatic landscapes, and the stories hidden within them. Hiking, skiing, and exploring the western half of the U.S. became more than favorite activities—they became a lifelong connection to the land and an inspiration for my photography. Whether following an old mountain trail, discovering a forgotten mining town, or simply stopping to appreciate a remarkable landscape, I enjoy walking and traveling through its rich history and discovering the relationship between the people, places, and natural forces that shaped the West. My photography is about photographing the past and present while attempting to capture the majesty and beauty of the mountains, plains, deserts, historic places, and expansive landscapes I encounter along the way. Each photograph represents a moment of exploration—a connection between history, nature, and the experience of being there. Through my images, I hope to share some of the wonder I have found while traveling throughout the western half of the U.S. and preserve a glimpse of these remarkable places for others to experience.
